This week, Los Angeles–based singer-songwriter Hannah Mundine caught our attention with her new single “Like I Said It,” released Friday, October 24.
I had a chance to listen to the track and explore some of her earlier work, and it’s safe to say this one’s worth your time. The production leans atmospheric and airy, but underneath it all sits a warm, R&B-inspired backbeat that keeps it grounded. Her voice is smooth and soulful — not overly polished or processed — and that’s what makes it so inviting.
The lyrics feel honest and lived-in, the kind that resonate without forcing themselves to be profound. It’s written with feel, not formula — something that immediately sets her apart. And when you check out her YouTube channel, the stripped-down sessions only reinforce it. Those guitar performances and off-the-cuff reels sound incredible, proving her voice stands tall on its own.
There are plenty of great singers out there, but Hannah’s tone and restraint feel especially refreshing. She doesn’t oversell emotion — she inhabits it. And that authenticity carries straight through “Like I Said It.”
I also appreciate that her publicist reached out to feature her here on The Coast, because this is exactly the kind of artist we love covering — genuine, talented, and carving out her own space in the indie scene.
Hannah made her live debut performance of “Like I Said It” this past weekend at The Echo, opening for Wafia as part of a Live Nation showcase. It was a fitting setting for her music: intimate, heartfelt, and brimming with promise.
As far as LA’s indie landscape goes, Hannah Mundine is right on point. She’s got the voice, the songwriting, and a presence that feels both fresh and familiar — one that deserves to be heard far beyond Los Angeles.
